Frequently Asked Questions

What is GradeCam?
Simply put, GradeCam is the best way to get data out of every classroom in an ongoing basis because it allows teachers to teach, easily administer assessments, and have the data automatically synced without worrying about the challenges that go along with online testing. • In-house GradeCam sync process that involves the automatic nightly export of files directly from Infinite Campus and then uploading those into GradeCam automatically through FTPS.  A unique sync token and sample script will be provided to initialize the syncing process.  If Ad Hoc Reporting in Infinite Campus and FTP processes are familiar to you, it will probably be the best path forward as it eliminates a third party and results in an easier transition for teachers.
    • Note: KDE has published two ad hoc filters in Infinite Campus (IC) to assist districts in collecting current student, teacher, and class data to upload to GradeCam. The filters are located in the Index under Ad Hoc Reporting > Filter Designer. In the list of saved filters, expand the State Published folder and then choose either “GradeCam – Student/Classes” or “GradeCam – Teachers.” Proper tool rights are needed in order to access these filters. Your IC system administrator may copy the ad hoc filters to a user account and customize them with additional fields to upload to GradeCam.

  • Clever (www.clever.com — 3rd party data company that updates information into GradeCam from your Student Information System).  This involves authorizing Clever at the district level to have access to your Student Information System.  If you are already Clever enabled, this may be your easiest solution.  The Clever sync between Infinite Campus and GradeCam has a few possible limitations based on how classes and sections are set up in Infinite Campus that we can discuss.  Clever requires teachers to rejoin the school or district account by clicking on a link in an email.
  • Manual uploading of CSV files into GradeCam is a very easy and straight-forward way to get initial roster data into GradeCam from Infinite Campus, but requires ongoing roster maintenance to ensure accuracy.
